Back to the wonderful ArtsCafe in Manor Park, Lewisham for a truly exceptional line-up of international experimental artists.
LIISSA PENTTI & PAUL PIGNON present "SIGHT SEEING"
Visionary Finnish dancer and choreographer Pentti and the extraordinary Sweden based musician Pignon (reeds and electronics) are touring their collaborative piece “Sight Seeing” in Europe. Don’t miss this!
ANNA HOMLER/STEVE BERESFORD/RICHARD SANDERSON
Trio which first got together at the 1999 Copenhagen Festival of Experimental Music - Los Angeles based vocalist and toyplayer Anna Homler (who sometimes performs as Breadwoman) has built up a language and vocal style which is expressive, unearthly and wonderful. With her two London based collaborators they produce music which is playful, ecstatic, witty and haunting. They get together rarely, so do make an effort to catch this!
ROSHI feat. PARS RADIO
Roshi Nasehi is a Welsh born singer-composer of Iranian parentage with a strong track record in live performance, collaboration, recording and workshops. She moved to London in 2000 and formed her much acclaimed "experimental, electronic Welsh-Iranian folk pop" project Roshi Featuring Pars Radio with prolific percussionist/producer Graham Dowdall (Gagarin, Nico, Cale, Pere Ubu). It's an unorthodox sound world combining Roshi's intimate singing style with Gagarin's experimental electronic powers to create a unique genre-crossing, 'exotic, folktronica landscape.'
JAMES MALONE AND JOE WRIGHT
Two young improvising musicians (acoustic guitar and saxophone respectively) pushing their music into new shapes and directions with verve. Mesmersing and compelling.

Linear Obsessional Recordings are back at the wonderful Vinyl Deptford with a stunning line-up and two album launches!
Launching the new LinOb album "Solitude, Reef and the Starry Veil" the extraordinary improv trio of Mark Browne - Saxophone and collected objects, Daniel Thompson - acoustic guitar, Richard Sanderson - amplified melodeon and stuff, present their wayward take on the British improv tradition.
Presenting new work including some of his new LinOb album "A Red Guide to the Coastal Quicksands of the British Isles", the Manchester based recondite electronicist creates austere and bleaky beautiful pieces influenced by various aspects of coastal landscape., With guest musicians Ruth Davis (cello) and Richard Sanderson (melodeon)
Over from New York - ethno-cyber-punk diva Viv Corringham's voice is a truly wonderful thing, haunting and out-there, yet rooted in tradition. Unmissable.
There's a prankster element to NeilLuck's performances that keep you fascinated and guessing - humour and precision collide in a mesmeric performance.
ME, CLAUDIUS/EMMA HOUSTON
Female collective Me, Claidius produce an inspiringly off-kilter and witty racket. On this occasion Me, Claudius will be a duo with Emma Houston.
Admission - suggested donation of £5

We present the launch of Far Rainbow's sublime "Somewhere Out There Was The Wave" with a live performance at the lovely Vinyl Deptford, in er...Deptford.
Far Rainbow is the duo of Bobby Barry (electronics) and Emily Mary Barnett (drums and percussion). They create vast evolving works built from loops and drones- the effect is hypnotic and decidedly psychedelic. This performance is to launch their new CD on Linear Obsessional Recordings "Somewhere Out There Was The Wave" - the darkest and most complete work yet.
THE STATIC MEMORIES
Dan Powell (laptop, guitar, sampler, effects) and Gus Garside (double bass, electronics) produce drifting, blurred and nuanced improvisations that seem almost weightless. Listen to their CD "The Bludy Vision of John Farley" https://slightlyoffkilter.bandcamp.com/album/the-static-memories-the-bloudy-vision-of-john-farley
ræppen is a project influenced by Sami shamanic traditions - incorporating vocal drones and percussion filtered through technology to create extraordinarily physical performances. They were just passing through...so we grabbed them.
Sound artist DJ Tendraw (founder of the influencial South London experimental club The Gluerooms- AKA Michael Shaw) creates extraordinary sounds from original physical creations.
RICHARD SANDERSON & TIM YATES
Free improv from Tim Yates - Diddley Bow and a sackful of objects and LinOb boss Sanderson - Melodeon, amplification and stuff.

Announcing a new open access compilation to be released by Linear Obsessional on Christmas Eve 2016. "Utterances" will continue from previous compilations "Two Minutes Left" and "Open the Window". We are asking for two minute long tracks featuring the human voice.
Obviously this would include songs, spoken word and other vocal sounds, it could also include found vocal sounds (radio/TV/field recordings) and processed vocal sounds. But any recording submitted should include sounds coming from the human mouth. There can be other sounds (instrumental, environmental etc) too of course, but the voice must be present/
1. All tracks must be exactly two minutes long. And feature vocal sounds.
2. Tracks can be in any audio format, but WAV or AIFF are preferable, but I'm happy to take recordings made on phones, cassette recorders, studios, whatever.
3. Only one track per contributor.
4. No cover versions. Versions of traditional songs would be OK however. But no material in copyright canbe used or sampled (unless you hold the copyright!)
5. Despite the release date, I am not looking for seasonal material. The compilation should be enjoyable all year.
6. Offensive material will be refused- I have final say on this.
7. Be aware of the sort of label Linear Obsessional is.
8. Tracks should be sent to my email - firstname.lastname@example.org with title and artist, any notes, and an accompanying picture if you want.
9. Tracks should not have appeared elsewhere.
11. Deadline for submissions is 15th December 2016. Do not release your tracks individally until after the compilation is released on Christmas Eve.
12. The resulting compilation will be released as a free download on Linear Obsessional on December 24th 2016, and all tracks will be under a creative commons licence.
